Founded by Helen Mason in 2016, the humble beginnings of Call A Buddy began with hard work, determination and a zest for helping others.
As the single mother of six children, Helen knew everything there was to know about splashes, spills, stains…you name it, there wasn’t a mess she hadn’t cleaned.
On top of being a full-time mum, Helen had worked as a professional cleaner for years and particularly loved the interaction she had with her clients. She enjoyed meeting new people, forming new bonds, hearing new stories and was proud of the support she gave through her work. But Helen wanted to do more. She saw a high demand for people that needed extra help around the house and not enough hands to do it.
With previous experience running successful businesses in the past, Helen decided she would put her skills, knowledge and experience to good use by creating her very own home care business. Helen envisioned an organisation that provided highly efficient, personable and reliable services that clients could rely on.
Starting out with a mop in one hand and bucket in the other, Helen worked day and night until she had built up enough clientele that more help was needed. She began forming a team of friendly, professional and efficient individuals to continue building the Call A Buddy name – our Buddies. Taking on a more administrative role, Helen began establishing relationships with other companies and agencies in the industry, offering her friendly and reliable services wherever needed.
Now, after seven challenging but exciting years, Call A Buddy is rapidly growing with over 50 employees and offers a broad range of services to cater to the community, such as cleaning (domestic assistance), gardening, support, transport and home maintenance. Helen continues to work day and night ensuring that operations run smoothly and clients receive the help they need.
With Helen’s determination and the help of our amazing Buddies, Call A Buddy has the potential to be a leading provider of home care services nationwide.
